Engaging schools education program

Bringing the water process to life with local schools.

Background:

In order to improve their engagement with the community that depends on them, Goldenfields Water were keen to explore opportunities to meaningfully connect with local schools. It was determined that a schools education program should be designed to educate students about the region’s drinking water supply, water efficiency and sustainability, as well as the benefits of choosing tap water.

Our Solution:

Before designing the schools education program, Juntos Marketing undertook an in-depth research project, speaking with teachers in the local area to understand their needs, specifically in teaching the current curriculum to their students. In line with the feedback, we designed and produced a series of high school education ‘depth days’ to be held at the Jugiong Water Treatment Plant and facilitated by Goldenfields Water staff. This included planning the agenda and detailed content for the day, plus developing high-quality student study materials based on the HSC curriculum for Geography, Chemistry and Investigating Science. The depth day itself was accompanied by eDM information updates to the schools and a follow-up newsletter with all the action from the days. We also produced an eye-catching infographic page to use as a promotional tool for future events.

What happened next:

The school education program was a great success. The depth days were well received by schools, giving Goldenfields Water a clear and meaningful platform with which to engage the community in the future. The majority of schools were interested in attending subsequent depth day events and potentially expanding the program to other subjects.
