Community consultation to support women in business
When TAFE Digital NSW launched its Women in Business program, they wanted to maximise reach and uptake, in order to increase women’s participation in the workforce and support the success of women in business across NSW.
In order to achieve this, the TAFE Digital NSW team engaged Juntos Marketing to undertake community consultation, engaging with a wide range of women from all populations and walks of life, to optimise engagement and outcomes.
Consulting widely across the community
Working on a tight timeline, we undertook a mixed methodology approach, combining a comprehensive online survey (n=736) with a series of in depth interviews. This approach allowed us to engage with and hear from a diverse range of women across metro and regional NSW, including members of CALD communities, Indigenous women and other important hard-to-reach groups.
We engaged with women already in business and those interested in starting their own business. This fully representative sample also included diversity across age, socioeconomic status and educational levels.
Recommended pathways were put into action with effective knowledge translation such as this infographic, encouraging cross-Department referrals.
Strong insights lead to excellent program uptake
The insights and recommendations led to a wide range of practical initiatives to ensure a successful launch and strong uptake of the program. The results speak for themselves: the four year targets for registration were met in the first 4 months after launch. And the engagement target of 50% was also convincingly exceeded.
“The Women in Business project represents a significant CX success, as an innovative delivery model, developed in response to client needs and preferred learning styles, involving rapid and successful collaboration between TAFE NSW teams, women business leaders and NSW Government agencies. It has proven highly successful and exceeded its 4 year registration target in the first four months.”
