To support the launch of this exciting new, evidence-based digital health startup, the Juntos team worked closely with founder, Dr Rik Dawson.
Rik is an experienced geriatric physiotherapist and successful business owner. He developed the ‘TopUp Exercise Program’ based on the randomised controlled trial he undertook during his PhD studies with the respected research team at the University of Sydney’s Centre for Research Excellence in Falls Injury Prevention.
To support TopUp’s commercialisation stage we worked closely with Rik to develop a marketing launch strategy and to design a more impactful and professional brand look and feel.
The new professional, mobile-responsive website has full ecommerce functionality and will serve as an MVP.
Behind-the-scenes work has included SEO research and application to key content, and assistance with the setup of social channels. To support business development, we also designed and developed an engaging and informative brochure for health professionals and a flyer for consumers.
The initiative is now supported by the university’s commercialisation program, with interest received from across Australia and globally.
The evidence: reducing the risk of having a fall at home
There is compelling evidence supporting strength and balance exercises in significantly reducing the risk of having a fall as people age.
Understanding this and wanting to widen access to an evidence-based fall prevention exercise program, Rik’s TopUp program offers graded exercises to improve balance based on individual people’s needs.
His PhD research, now published, demonstrated that the online TopUp exercise program was effective in reducing the risk of a fall in older people.
